Reports are coming in of the Martian Home Fleet and planetary defence fleets in Quadrant Zero recalling all crews from leave. It is believed that the MSN Home Fleet at New Mars is about to burn for the M25.
An MSN spokesperson said "We are conducting a routine defence mobility exercise to maintain defensive readiness. The Home Fleet will be moving in due course to a number of MAFC member worlds in Q0 to test defensive measures."
INN reporters questioned the MSN about whether this was a response to recent tensions between the SSR and the Empire, but they refused to comment on the subject, merely repeating that the forthcoming manoevers where "...purely defensive in nature".

As you should by now be aware the MSN is undergoing a major reorganisation and rationalisation of its existing forces with a view to future expansion under SSALT.
Not having time to read Sun Tzu's "The Art of War" we used the sequel, Zap Brannigan's "Big Book of War", as a guide in this matter. The reorganisation should be completed this year (3207).
Overall this will not result in a diminution of the forces made available overall to the SHC under ToOL, but there will be a "re-balancing" of those forces. Already Adm. Pussy will have seen an increase in the combat elements of the MSN forces allocated to Q0. In Quadrants 5, 6 & 7 there may be a temporary decrease in the forces allocated to those commands. Over the next few octants there will be a lot of ship transfers and then the forces available to each command will be assessed. Your views on this issue will be considered before any final decision is taken.
Ultimately, after the full implementation of the expansion programme, each command will have an MSN Strategic Fleet allocated to it, but this will be in the future. This will mean that the MSN contribution to each of the Quadrants will be a single strategic fleet, which is a further re-balancing from where we are now.
