Subject: MAFC Ground Defences and welcome to new joiner P18 in Q5
The MAFC welcomes the P18 system to the MAFC. With humanity threatened in the
east it is not a surprise that independent systems seek to join established
polities with good records on defence. The MAFC will stand behind P18 now, whilst
encouraging the people of this system to enjoy their own form of government,
while participating in Quadrant and pan-MAFC elections also.
The MoEA is currently undertaking an investment survey of P18 with a view to
starting a sustained program of investment in 3212.
The MSN announces today that the local P18 Starguard is being inducted into
the MSN Starguard Service. Experts from the MSN are visiting to hand over intelligence
and assistance in the latest techniques of law enforcement. The mission will
also start the process of upgrading the local ground forces to the status of
a Planetary Guard Division.
In a related announcement, the MSN announces that in the light of events in
Q6 at ADOBE, ground forces in the Quadrant are to be upgraded to Planetary Guard
Divisions on all but the poorest systems.

The MSN announces that two new pairs of IP destroyers are being crated up for
transport to Nimrod and Binni respectively where they will be assembled in orbit
by their crews, MSN technicians and civilian contractors. This is expected to
be completed by year end. This mean that all MAFC worlds in Q0 have available
two of these useful vessels for picket duty, freeing up Starguard vessels for
their correct police role.
Separately, the MSN is investigating whether a programme of converting the entire
DD class to SC vessels is underway: this it is thought would significantly enhance
the picket capabilities of these vessels

Ministry of Foreign Affairs, New Mars; Restoration of Diplomatic Ties
Today the MAFC is delighted to announce that, on the eve of
the inter-polity Summit at New Mars, the Solar Republic and Empire and Martian
Association of Free Colonies re-established diplomatic relations. Former Senator
Drakkir Hands, currently Vice-Chancellor at the University of Old Mars in the
Sol system, has been named as Martian Ambassador to Earth.

All Martian Offensive Fleets and Combat Teams assigned to JAC forces come with
their own sufficient logistics and are fully assigned to JAC, without caveats.
This includes the recent addition to JAC forces in Q6, which brought MSN forces
to Fleet Strength (4th Offensive Fleet).
Scout Teams assigned to JAC are provided with a lower level of logs, given their
non-offensive role.
